Caledon Beer Fest on 5th of November a celebration of family and togetherness

The focus is on family at The Caledon Beer Fest this year, with an outstanding line up of some of South Africa’s well-known and emerging performers, children’s entertainment, great South African food and much more.

In the Caledon Hotel’s exquisite gardens with the Overberg as the backdrop, The Caledon Beer Fest on the 5th of November is a celebration of family, friends, togetherness and the outdoors.
This will be the (2nd) year that The Caledon Casino, Hotel and Spa is hosting the festival. According to the casino’s General Manager, Paul Campbell, there is something for everyone at this year’s event.
“As is our style, we’re trying to please everyone. This is something for the young, not-so-old, and the not-so-young.

“We’re pulling out all the stops to make this an enjoyable and memorable event for the community. It’s not often that the community has an opportunity like this to come together in one place, to have fun, and be entertained in what is most certainly one of the most beautiful settings in the country. We’re hoping that the Caledon Beer Fest will become something of a tradition that will attract people to our town for years to come,” he says.

The festival kicks of at 10:00 and will end at 20:00. Entrance is R100 per adult and R50 for young people aged between 14 and 18 years. Children under the age of 14 get free entrance.
Bands and artists performing at the Caledon Beer Fest include, Elvis Blue, Leanne, Hellfire Blues Club, Barbers Cat, Jesse Jordan Band, Saber and Pieter Mohr. There will also be 4X4 demonstrations and a potjie competition.

Children can enjoy bouncing on jumping castles, riding ponies and having their faces painted. There will also be Zorb balls, bubble balls and a climbing wall.
“It really is a community affair. We’ve called on learners from the high school to come and help paint faces and get involved with some of the other activities,” says Campbell.
Aside from the beer garden, featuring beers from the South African Breweries (SAB), there will be stalls selling snacks, light meals and drinks.
